Rising Australian country artist Cooper Rieger has officially graduated from the prestigious CMAA Academy of Country Music, marking a major milestone in what is quickly becoming an exciting and fast-rising career in country music.
Held during the iconic Tamworth Country Music Festival, the CMAA Academy is regarded as one of Australia’s premier development programs for emerging country artists, helping shape the next generation of performers, songwriters, and musicians. Over the intensive course, Cooper worked alongside some of the country’s leading industry professionals, refining his craft as both a songwriter and guitarist while further developing the authentic performance style that is rapidly earning attention across the scene.
For Cooper, graduating from the Academy was more than just completing a course — it was the beginning of a new chapter.
“Being part of the CMAA Academy was an incredible experience,” Cooper said. “To learn from some of the best in the business, connect with other artists, and spend that time fully immersed in music was something I’ll carry with me forever. It pushed me creatively and gave me even more drive to keep growing as an artist.”
As the son of Chris Rieger and growing up surrounded by the music and touring lifestyle of iconic Australian country band Simply Bushed, Cooper’s passion for country music has been lifelong. The Academy experience helped sharpen the natural musicianship and storytelling ability he has been developing since childhood.
Following graduation, Cooper wasted no time making his presence known throughout Tamworth 2026, delivering standout performances across the festival, including appearances at the Fanzone Stage and Tamworth Services Club. Armed with electrifying guitar work, honest songwriting, and a commanding stage presence, Cooper quickly became one of the emerging artists audiences were talking about during the festival.
With new music, live shows, and plenty more on the horizon, Cooper Rieger’s journey is only just beginning — and the future is looking incredibly bright.
